As we know life is all about interactions. Every moment of every day, we interact with people and in return they also interact with us. This is how a relation builds up between people - around us the ordinary becomes extraordinary. This feeling is how we students from AAM, EC5 felt about Interactive Limited based in the heart of the Dubai Internet city.

As we entered the city of big hopes, interactivity and creativity there was a warm welcome from a company representative who ‘interacted’ and guided us towards the conference room for having a seminar on today’s E-technological developments.

Ziad Tassabehji, CEO and founder of Interactive Limited said their focus has always been on the essence of the Net as a tool for faster, more interactive and for better communications. His vision inspired us – particularly how the Internet can dramatically reduce the cost for both consumer and business units by building up an interaction platform between the businesses. They rounded off by saying they have 80 employees with different nationalities spread worldwide in different areas and for instance they don’t have any UAE graduate working with them. We were told that there are a lot of opportunities open for young graduates to work with them and will be highly prioritized if any UAE national is interested.

As Interactive Limited is the first Internet solution provider within the region they witnessed a lack of awareness surrounding the Internet, as well reduction of cost and overheads for pioneering information intensive industries. This is how the idea of setting up an e-business solution provider came into being in year 1996.

Zaid said since their launch in 1996, they were focusing on web-based application developments, continuously refining the services while staying at the forefront of the Internet’s rapid evolution. He added they acquired the knowledge, domain expertise, and resources to deliver dynamically in real time solutions for the specific products to Government departments including Dubai police, Dubai immigration, and Dubai municipality as well as to medium to large-scale financial institutions too.

The key to their analytic success is Business Intelligence (BI) and core competence are E-commerce solutions and E-government. They also provide strategic consultancy, extranets and intranets for exchange of data within the organizations.

It was always a pleasure for us as E-commerce students to be at the receiving end of information from the CEO of Interactive limited as their professional and enthusiastic services forces us to think on an international scale and recall that Dubai Internet City is now being taken seriously by global Net products buyers.
